In France a 16th century physician praised massage as a treatment of various ailments. A Swedish doctor named Henrik Ling, in the 19th

When Massage Parlors started to appear, offering sexual services they created a unsavory image of massage and it cosequentily lost some of it's value, this image is fading as the value and therapeutic properties of massage grows.

Massage techniques have been bonded with other complimentary therapy's such as reflexology and osteopathy.

It is also widely used in intensive care units, for children and the elderley. Massage also plays animportant role in cancer, heart attack and stroke treatments.
