Some general guidelines, Delhi IS pretty much a write off for pay for play - but only in comparison to the rest of India. When you compare it to many other places, it's great.

This may sound a bit weird, but trust me, the best thing you can do, is befriend a Sikh. The Sikh's are great partyers and pride themselves on being able bully every other group. It's a rip-off, but they give a fair exchange rate, and I knew I would not have trouble finding entertainment for the evening. Off we went, with the taxi trying to rip me off by asking for $40.00 to take me to the hotel. I just laughed and got in his cab. When we got to the hotel I gave him $10.00 and told him to get lost. He blew a gasket, started yelling and saying I'd agreed to $40.00! I kept my cool, smiled and said, just a second. I asked the bellboy to get the Manager of the hotel. I knew he'd get no such person, but a second or so later he was back with the floor captain. I told him I'd been to this hotel before, (true), and that this cabby was trying to rip me off. Could the floor captain please tell him off for me? And I pressed $5.00 into his hand. Two minutes later the cabby was grumbling...and leaving. I asked the same guy if it was possible to find some companionship so late on Sunday, or could he work something out for me? He said no problem, and asked me for $250.00. I smiled and asked him if he was afterall related to the cabby. He laughed and asked me what I wanted to spend. I told him I wanted a good clean Muslim girl, (his nameplate said Ali), and that she was not expected to stay the night. I gave him $100.00, (way too much really), but he took it and smiled. Doing it this way, I told him several things without really having to say it. First, the Muslims in India have always believed they are far better than Hindus. They ruled the place for a thousand years afterall. I noticed his Muslim name and specifically asked for a muslim girl, being disdainful of a Hindu girl, which told him I was a discriminating chap, and a bit experienced.
